HISTORY

How it all began

Thirteen years ago, Haute Wired founders Teddie Ray, Darcy Lee Post, and Katherine Sanderson set out to create a fundraiser for Orange County’s progressive philanthropic set that was more hip than hip-replacement, more club than club soda, more talking and teasing than afternoon tea . . . and Haute Wired was born.

The unique fashion event (the “haute” part of Haute Wired) aimed to raise money to launch an anonymous telephone hotline (hence, the “wired”). Since its inception, Haute Wired has become a much-anticipated social event, annually attracting 350 community leaders and partygoers.

Where the money goes

Proceeds from Haute Wired have always helped teens and young adults get the honest, accurate information they need to make responsible decisions about their health. Funds have helped launch and sustain our sex ed hotlines (toll-free: 877.4ME.2ASK, text: 53634, online: www.betterthansexED.org) and other innovative health education programs. We greatly appreciate your support. Your commitment to Classic Haute Wired helps build a healthier Orange County by providing local teens and young adults with the most sophisticated instrument in medicine: accurate information.
